IMMOOCB1... I Believe In You
Relationships are the key to success in school and in life. Just last week in a faculty meeting, our assistant head of school told us all that our students wouldn't be as successful as they are without the relationships we have built with them. In my day-to-day life with students, I am their advocate, I am their guide, and for some I am their school mom. I am fortunate enough to work with my students for three years as a learning specialist. I know their nuances and can read their face to determine what kind of day it will be.

One day last week, a thoughtful student posted signs on each door with the title “What we love about…” Of course you see the normal, “Kind, funny, nice, etc.,” but on my door, my students have hit the nail on the head with two phrases. “She tells it like it is” and “she knows all things.” Both of these statements prove that my students know who I am to them, and they respect me for it.
I learned so much from my former principal, Claudia Vogt, about building relationships. She closed out the daily announcements with a simple, but effective saying. So like a great leader before me, I end this blog with:
“I believe in you. I trust in you. I know you can do it. You are listened to. You are cared for. You are very important to me.”
